SIMPLE Last Minute Halloween Treats

Are you scrambling to throw together some last minute spooky treats? These three are so ridiculously simple, and you probably already have the ingredients in your pantry.

Pretzel Pumpkins

For these I used pumpkin spice chips, but you can also just use orange melting chips, or white chocolate and add orange food color. You’ll also need to pick out all of the green m&m’s from a bag in preparation.

What you need:

  • Mini pretzels
  • Green m&m’s
  • Pumpkin spice chocolate chips, orange melting chips or white
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie sheet

Instructions:

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for about 20-30 seconds at a time, taking out to stir in between. Dip the pretzels in the chocolate and turn them over several times, making sure to put a thick coat on them. Place them on the parchment paper on top of a cookie sheet. Add a green m&m at the top of the indentation of the pretzel. Use a little bit of chocolate to hold it in place if it will not stand up. Place the cookie sheet with your pretzel pumpkins in the refrigerator for about 30-60 minutes to let them harden.

Spooky Nutter Butter Ghosts

Ghosts are supposed to be scary but these little dudes are actually pretty cute. It may seem sinful to coat a cookie with chocolate that’s filled with icing, but it’s Halloween so go a little sugar crazy.

What you need:

  • Nutter Butter cookies
  • White chocolate chips or melting chips
  • Writing gel
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie sheet

Instructions:

Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl for about 20-30 seconds at a time, taking out to stir in between. Dip the Nutter Butter cookies in the white chocolate. You may need to use a spoon or knife to spread over the cookie. Place the covered product on the parchment paper. When you’ve filled up the tray, stick it in the refrigerator for 30-60 minutes to let them harder. Remove from the refrigerator and use your writing gel to make two eyes and a mouth.

Witches Brooms

This is the most simple of all. You couldn’t mess these up if you tried, and they’re perfectly theme-appropriate.

What you need:

  • Pretzel sticks
  • Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

Unwrap the Reese’s Cup. Stick the pretzel on the bottom end in the middle of the cup. Really, that’s all. Set them out on a platter for all to enjoy.
